Client: InSightful Systems,Inc.

The client is a Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) service provider, specialized in MES services and support including: MES implementations, Factory Modeling etc. In order to provide a industry standart user interface to one of the MES engines (Insite), the client needed a partner who could develop and deliver a web based user interface which interacts with the MES engine APIs along with few other modules including reports. Dhruv was selected for its core experience in Manufacturing domain, specifically MES and its experience in building flexible and scalable web applications. The contract included design and development of this new user interface.

Challenges:

	Development of competitive and user-friendly applications

	User Interface should be highly flexible, configurable to support different types of end users and scalable.
	Develop interfaces to Test Data collection (QDC), Oracle ERP and SPC charts.
	UI should be highly secure

Solution:

	A generic XML driven framework was designed powered by AJAX as shown below.
	A screen designer tool is developed for the end users so that the screens can be configured.
	Validation library was written and flexibility was given to add rules, validations and custom functions to the framework.
	Active Directory driven security was provided to the application.
	Unique interface called Live Connect was built as an interface to Oracle ERP.

Benefits:

	A industry standard UI was put in place and because of the flexibility the client was able to implement this UI with the engine at various sites in record time.
	The client entered into an agreement with Dhruv to leverage the technical skills and domain knowledge and jointly implemented the framework in more than 5 customer sites.
	Reduced the customization cost and maintenance cost because of the generic nature of the user interface.
